Trust Administration

Administration of Your Brown, Lacallade & Lange P.C. Family Wealth Plan

Trust administration is a critical piece of the overall process for ensuring that your family has all of the information, guidance and resources it will need when you are no longer here to provide for them.  Our administration of your estate will be a team effort headed by a seasoned, experienced, caring attorney, just like the creation of your Family Wealth Plan was.  And, as are all of our engagements, we will agree on a flat fee before we begin the works so that there are no surprises for your family.

When your loved ones engage us to assist them with the administration of your trust, we will meet with them to gather information.  They will bring us the trust asset information from your Estate Planning Portfolio and we will use it to update our information.  Then we will prepare a comprehensive trust administration memorandum that will prepare your successor trustee to accept and carry out the duties of the trustee of your trust.

We stand ready to assist your family in every way to resolve property transfers and any loose ends that exist after your death.  Administration also includes dealing with non-trust assets, such as life insurance policies, annuities, joint accounts, and retirement accounts.

Administration of Trusts Created by Others

We also provide flat fee trust administration services for estates that have a trust created by another law firm.  Unless that law firm, too, is a member of the Wealth Counsel network, it is common for more work to be involved because the trust records are usually not up to date.

If your loved one’s trust records are not up to date, it is likely that there will be estate assets that are neither held in the trust nor subject to a valid beneficiary designation.  Dealing with those assets may require your loved one’s will to go through probate, which will add time, cost, and complexity to the estate administration process.  Estate administration also includes dealing with your loved one’s non-trust assets, such as life insurance policies, annuities, joint accounts, and retirement accounts.

If you engage us to assist with the administration of your loved one’s trust, we will meet with you to gather information.  You will bring us the estate asset information and we will use it to prepare a comprehensive plan for the administration of the estate.  We also will prepare a comprehensive trust administration memorandum that will prepare the successor trustee to accept and carry out the duties of the trustee.

We stand ready to assist you and your family in every way to resolve property transfers and any loose ends that exist after your loved one’s death.

If your loved one had a Brown, Lacallade & Lange P.C. Family Wealth Plan, please mention that.  We promised your loved one that we would be there for you when your loved one could not be and we will be honored to assist you with the plan’s administration.
