Charles L. “Chuck” Lacallade, a native of Rhode Island and Texas resident since 1976, is the Manager of our Kingsland office. He fully licensed by the Texas Supreme Court, the United States Fifth and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas.
Chuck was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island in 1969. Chuck then served in the United States Army Ordnance Corps, ending his active duty with the rank of Captain.
On separation from the Army, Chuck went to work for General Electric, where he held engineering and marketing positions. While working full time for G.E. and covering a three-state sales territory, Chuck attended the South Texas College of Law in Houston where he was a member of the Law Review. After graduating with honors, Chuck joined the legal staff of the Lower Colorado River Authority in Austin and entered private practice in 1987.
Chuck and his childhood sweetheart, Betsy, have been married for more than 50 years and have reared two Aggie daughters, Dawn (’96) and Denise (’00). Dawn is Chief Strategist and Vice President, Healthcare, of LiveWorld, Inc. and Denise is raising their grandchildren and working in Austin.
With a home in Austin and another on the Colorado River arm of Lake LBJ, “empty nesters” Chuck and Betsy had more homes than they needed. So, in 1994, they sold their Austin home and moved to the Lake. In 1996, Chuck opened our office in Kingsland to better serve the Highland Lakes area.
Chuck has been a Master Mason for more than 50 years and is a member of Ben Hur Shrine in Austin. Chuck has been the president of two Shrine organizations and served as counsel for Ben Hur Shrine in Austin for 16 years. Chuck’s passion is for the Shrine Hospitals for Children, particularly the Houston Orthopedic and Galveston Burn Hospitals.
Chuck and Betsy are active in Republican affairs in the Highland Lakes area where Chuck has served as Chairman of the Burnet County Republican Party. They enjoy golf, boating, and spending time with their daughters and their grandchildren. Chuck is also active in the Kingsland Lions Club and has served as a director and President of the Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce and is a Past President of the Board of Directors, Advisory Director, and counsel for the Hoover Valley Fire & EMS. For more than 20 years Chuck has served as counsel for CASA of the Highland Lakes. He is also a past President of the Highland Lakes Bar Association and of the Shangri La Property Owners Association.
Chuck has a passion for extending the reach of the law to include those living in the Hill Country.
